Maine Black Bear, Moose, Deer, and Upland Game Bird Hunting
2008 Black Bear Hunt If you are new to Maine black bear hunting, we want you to know it gives you with the thrill of a lifetime. The heart pounding adrenalin rush when you encounter your quarry is something only those who've been through it can put into words. No matter if you're in a tree stand or in a ground blind, your heart and blood pressure are going to crank up a notch or two. We provide Maine bear-over-bait guided hunts deep in the wilderness. Our bait sites cover a 250 square mile area. We maintain a minimum of two sites per hunter to insure success. We use tree stands and ground blinds, at the bear hunter's preference. You can hunt with a rifle, bow, muzzleloader or handgun -- the choice is yours.

2008 Moose, Deer, Partridge and Turkey Hunts
Lunksoos Camps is located in prime moose, whitetail deer, bear, grouse and turkey habitat in the Katahdin Highlands, a vast tract of wooded wilderness. Note: Hunters compete by state moose lottery for a moose license, and are assigned a district in which to hunt. All other big game trophy hunts are unrestricted as to place. We are on a river, the East Branch of the Penobscot, and near two major streams. The combination of water, cover, and plentiful food for game animals make this area an exciting place to hunt. 2008 Bear season:
Note: A bear permit is required in addition to a hunting license to hunt for bear from August 25 through November 29, 2008. And, beginning in 2008, a late season bear permit is required in addition to a hunting license for a nonresident to hunt bear during the regular firearm season on deer. 2008 Moose season: Lunksoos Camps is in T3 R7 in Wildlife Management District 10 and is near District 11. 2008 Deer season:
2008 Spring Turkey season: Your birthday determines in what week of spring you can hunt turkey in our wildlife management district (WMD 10). One bearded turkey is allowed per hunter, and hunting hours are from 1/2 hour before sunrise to 12 noon, local time. For the 2008 Spring Turkey hunt, hunters with even-numbered birth years (years ending in 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8) can hunt during Season A. Hunters with odd-numbered birth years (years ending in 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9) can hunt during Season B.
2008 ruffed grouse (partridge), bobwhite quail, pheasant: Oct. 1 - Dec. 3, 2008 The daily bag limit is 4, and the possession limit is 8. 2008 migratory birds: The season dates are not set until September. 2008 small game: Maine has seasons for bobcat, coyote, fox, squirrels, rabbits, porcupines, etc. Scroll down to the bottom of Maine's seasons page to see the small game seasons.
